Member Bio Questionnaire Date: 3/18/03
Occupation: Teacher/Administrator Short paragraph of Triathlon background to include, how long you have been doing Triathlons, maybe some names of races you’ve been in, any top finishes? Buffalo Springs was my first big race and it is a favorite. I did California Ironman and my surprise finish was an age group first place finish at the 5430 Half Ironman race in Boulder, Colorado. The best part of racing is competing against people like Super Mark and taking it to the last race. It makes for good stories later on. Top Finishes: 5430 Boulder, Cocorado Worst Finishes: El Paso ½ marathon Favorite Race(s): Buffalo Springs, Las Vegas Funniest thing that has happened to you during a race: On a practice bike ride, watching Mike Montoya get a ticket for riding his bike on the road. (You will have to ask Mike about that, then Danny Montoya almost getting a ticket for obstructing justice!!!) One piece of advice: Beware when biking in Mesilla. Big race(s) of the year: Buffalo, Boulder Favorite After Race recovery food: Ice Cream Best excuse for a bad performance: Had too much fun last night……. Favorite Training routine: Early morning run Short paragraph about life outside of Triathlons: It wouldn’t be the same without the exercise, friendships and benefits of being a triathlete! |
