Age Group:

Years in Triathlon:
3

Where do you live:
Albuquerque West Side
Short paragraph of Triathlon background to
include, how long you have been doing Triathlons, maybe some names of races
you've been in, any top finishes? I
started training for triathlon in 1999 with a goal of completing an Ironman two
years later. I stayed on schedule and finished IM FL in 2001 and was later
"lucky" enough to compete in Hawaii in 2002. I've now got the Ironman bug and
hope to be doing them when I'm 70+ years old.
Top Finishes:
A charity ride that wasn't even a race, I was the only one racing to the finish
:)
Worst Finishes:
A DNF in Jay Benson because of a complete mechanical failure on the bike.
Favorite Race(s):
Kona will always be my favorite.
Funniest thing that has happened to you during a
race: It wasn't funny at the time, but I
got four flats in one race.
One piece of advice:
It's not just about the race, it's also about the
dicipline to get to the starting line and the determination to get to the finish
line.
Big race(s) of the year:
Ironman USA and Ironman Florida.
Favorite After Race recovery food:
A whole pizza, preferable pepperoni, green chilli, and sausage.
Best excuse for a bad performance:
Four flats, what else is there to say!
Favorite Training routine:
From my house up to the top of the crest and back, I call it the Sandia
Century. If that doesn't get you in shape, nothing will!
Short paragraph about life outside of
Triathlons: I try to spend as much time
with my wife as possible, it's tough with all of the training, but she's very
supportive and everything that I could ask for in a wife!
